You remember Linus. He’s Lucy’s little brother in Charles Schultz’ famous Peanuts cartoon series.
(I’d post a picture, but I don’t want to pay a royalty. We do everything possible to keep your costs down.)
Anyway, Linus never went anywhere without his security blanket. He always held it in his left hand. As long as his security blanket was by his side, he never worried about anything. He could cope. He could maneuver. He could withstand any evil force with his trusty blanket.
Fast forward 50 years to Fortinet’s newest innovation, the Security Fabric. Long an industry leader in firewall and network security solutions, the Fortinet has, well, created a solution like Linus’ security blanket, only much better.
If you missed Carolinas Net Care’s Spring Technology Briefing on April 24, you missed Greg Aker’s presentation of some of the aspects of the Fortinet Security Fabric. If you want to dig into some technical information about the new product, click here. But the essence of its effectiveness is this:
The Fortinet Security Fabric is an integrated approach to security, able to share and act on data in real time across all of your entry and exit points. The result is the first truly comprehensive, cross-platform and cross-application solution to complex network security.
OK, if you want a little more, here’s how Fortinet explains it:
The Fortinet Security Fabric segments the entire network—from the Internet of Things (IoT) to the cloud—to provide superior protection against sophisticated threats:
- Broad visibility and protection across the digital attack surface. More than 25% of enterprise attacks are predicted to target IoT devices by 2020. And siloed apps in multi-cloud environments make it even harder to respond to threats. The Fortinet Security Fabric delivers real-time visibility across all devices and applications.
- Integrated detection and response to advanced threats. Enterprises average more than 30 point security products within their environments, resulting in multiple time-consuming security consoles and lack of transparency. The Fortinet Security Fabric streamlines communications among the different security solutions, shrinking detection and remediation windows.
- Automated operations and analytics via a single console. Sophisticated cyberattack technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) are reducing the time from intrusion to attack. This means enterprises need to detect threats faster. With Fortinet Security Fabric, you can coordinate automated responses and remediation to threats detected anywhere across your extended network.
Not too techie.
The bottom line is this: as a NetCare™ customer, you’ll soon be enjoying the advantages of the Fortinet Security Fabric if you aren’t already.

When it’s all said and done, we think Linus would approve. With the Fortinet Security Fabric in place. you can cope. You can maneuver. You can withstand any evil force!
